Kapi Cafe - Warbuton, WA

A lovely friend, Ros is working/ doing  her phd in a remote Aboriginal community about 1600 km east of Perth, population of only approx. 400. We send some drinking chocolate her way every few months to use in the Kapi Cafe!

One of the programs Ros is organising is the Warburton Breakfast Minyma - Milyirrtjarra Kuurl Mirrka Palyalpayi Program. The program begun making breakfast for the school kids, and they even published a book about it. It has now evolved into a much bigger program than making breakfast, and the "breakfast" women are broadening their skills, and catering for events in the community.

If you have any material for sewing, wool, knitting needles, old magazines etc, it would be fantastic if you could donate them to the Warbuton Breakfast Minyma. Send them through to PMB 71, Warburton, via Alice Springs, NT 0871

yummm coconut macaroons...

Last year Craig was interviewed by the courier, and they came out and took this nice pic in the chocolatorium. I'm just getting through my huge list of jobs to be done, and finally remembered to scan it in! :)

Yummmmm.... Last night Craig baked some amazing coconut macaroons. A yummy treat to eat outside on a day thats finally just nice, not boiling hot, pouring with rain or freezing cold. About time!!

hot hot hot!

Well after a such a wet and cold winter, here in Ballarat we've finally been hit with a couple of really hot days. We spent the day in Melbourne yesterday catching up with friends and family, and having a yummy brunch in the courtyard at penny royal - kept cool under the shade and gus had lots of toys to play with.

Back at home craig and gus have been looking after the vegie garden after being away in tassie for a week. The sunflowers are loving the sun and we are hoping to finally have corn in the next couple of days... finally! :) To keep cool, gus has been playing in our inflatable pool in the backyard and we have been drinking lots of iced chocs and coffee! yum!

sunflowers - blown over by the recent storms....

Tasmania!

We just arrived home yesterday from a great week away in Tassie. We had a great time staying with lovely friends Ros, Chris and Mary in Battery Point, where we explored Salamanca and had a great time. Managed to check out Nick Cave's new band at mona foma , a free festival to celebrate the opening in Hobart. We didnt't manage to get to the gallery because of the crowds, but definitely will be heading out there on our next trip over. We caught up with Tim from Ritual Coffee, and also had yummy lunch at Ciuccio in Salamanca Square. Salamanca Market was fun, we bought yummy pork and fennel sausages of the Gourmet Farmer, Matthew Evans. We also had a great couple of days catching up with Kate and Nathan and family on Bruny Island. Went to a fun 60th birthday party with an amazing view of Adventure Bay, and walked up to Bruny Lighthouse. A lovely break! Here are a couple of snaps of our trip....
